When the rodeo came to town

It’s easy to say what I’m interested in photographing and understanding: identity and belonging. How we create these, sustain these, and thrive in and because of them. I’m especially interested in people, groups, and activities that I don’t know anything about or about which I find some negative assumptions of my own. To break down those fixed ideas in my brain, I go out into the world and spend time with humans being human. At the rodeo I found friendship, fear, strength, faith, and community.
